Keep On Singing Partners with WURRLYedu!
WURRLYedu and Karaoke World Championships USA (KWC) have partnered up with one main initiative: to help singers train their vocal skills throughout a 6 week intensive course, all in hopes of becoming the 2019 Karaoke World Champion!
KWC, who has been active for 17 years, started the Keep On Singing program for the first time this year. National Director of KWC, Joshua Baron said “We know that Keep On Singing works, we really wanted to go nationwide with it and take it off the stage, that way singers and coaches can do it around their schedule via the WURRLYedu app.”
With WURRLYedu’s recording and sharing capabilities, KWC was able to create Keep On Singing. The idea behind the program is to pair vocal athletes with professional coaches. Through the WURRLYedu app, singers perform using their mobile device. From there, the coaches grade and provide feedback directly to the singers. Throughout the 6 weeks, students will be able to see the progress they have made through notes, comments and grading from their coaches, helping them become the best performers they can be. WHO can participate? Anyone can be considered for this competition. Simply put, if you like to sing, and you have access to an Apple/Android device, you’re in! This intensive vocal training program is suited best for singers who want to expand their vocal versatility and performance. Not to mention, if you like to travel, this competition is definitely for you. Keep On Singing is offering a unique opportunity (1 in 5 chance) to win an all expenses paid (entry, airfare and hotel) spot in the 2019 KWCUSA National Finals in Las Vegas!
WHAT does the competition entail? Keep On Singing is a 6 week vocal training program utilizing WURRLYedu which features one-on-one coaching. Each singer in the program will receive an iRig Mic so they can make high quality videos for the coaches during their training. Throughout the 6 weeks, coaches will give feedback to the singers, helping them improve their voice, technique, artistry, and stage presence, which are the four judging criteria for KWC. Coaches also score each vocal athlete, which determines their chances in winning their free ride to the KWC finals in Las Vegas.
Scores and feedback will be given to the singers to help them understand what they should work on to improve their craft. Unlike the previous stage version of the program, singers will not be cut throughout the duration of the 6 weeks, instead singers will be given this time to work with their coaches trying to earn the top scores for their team week after week. KWC wants to make sure every singer has the opportunity to showcase their talent.
During the registration process, singers choose their favorite KWC alumni (who are on the KWC website) or vocal expert for 6 weeks via WURRLYedu as their coach. They work directly with their selected coach on various genres and performance styles, and week-by-week will improve on becoming the best singers they can be.
WHERE/WHEN? Participants will be training and performing from the comfort of their own home. Upon completion of Keep On Singing, the top scoring singer after 6 weeks of coaching from each team will be invited to compete directly in the KWCUSA National Finals August 18th - 21st at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Nevada. The USA Champion will win the trophy, cash, prizes and a trip to Tokyo, Japan to compete in the KWC World Finals on November 27th - 29th.
WHY? The KWC community is rapidly growing and they are on a mission to continue to find singers throughout the nation and elevate them to their full potential. Joshua Baron said “The Karaoke World Championships Organization is committed to not only finding the next world champion from somewhere within our diverse nation but also to helping every individual vocal athlete coming through the program find a unique way to learn and grow their craft.” WURRLYedu is thrilled to be a part of Keep On Singing.
